Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka was born in Minsk. Sergey Sabalenka (d. 2019) is her hockey-playing father. Aryna Sabalenka was birthed in Minsk on May 5, 1998. Aryna is the holder of 12 WTA Singles titles. One of which was named "Grand Slam" during the Australian Open 2023. In her role as a specialist in doubles she has also won the US Open of 2019 as and the Australian Open of 2021 with Elise Mertens. Also, she achieved an incredible Sunshine Double in 2019, taking her the WTA 1000 at Indian Wells, Miami and the Australian Open with Elise Mertens. Only four teams in women's Doubles were able to achieve. The Belarusian rose from second place to third on the world singles rankings at the end of August on the 23rd, 2021. Her highest rank was also achieved in the month of January of 2023. The same year she won the title in Melbourne, and after that went to the top spot in the world for doubles. Dmitry Tursunov was her coach in 2018 until the end of her season in 2019, and also briefly before the year 2020 began. Dieter Kindlmann was her coach for a short time in August of 2020 until September. From the beginning of 2020 she's been trained by her fellow countryman Antonio Dubrov. Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova are her greatest idols.
